We are open for shopping Tues-Sat 12-6

Due to covid-19 and the changes we must make to enable us to do business in a safe manner for both ourselves and our clientele, we have the following policies in place. Please respect our decisions in implementing these new rules.

  • Appointments are required for tattoos, piercings and consultations.  Our lobby is open for body jewelry shopping Tues-Sat.  If you need assistance with a jewelry purchase, contact our Piercer, Naye,  before your visit through her email.

  • Masks are required during your tattoo procedure, regardless of vaccination status.  No exceptions. Please provide your own mask.

  • One client per artist. This means you cannot bring friends, family or guests along with you during your appointment.

  • Please bring along your own re-sealable beverage (example: bottled water). We can no longer  provide you with our self-serve coffee/tea/water station.

  • No food or snacks are allowed inside the studio.

  • Your appointment may be cancelled/rescheduled at any time, with no notice, at the discretion of your artist/piercer. If your appointment has to be rescheduled, we will do our best to honor any deposits you have towards that appointment.

  • If you're feeling ill, please reschedule your visit and/or appointment.

  • We no longer allow guests to sit with you in the tattoo area during your procedure and we encourage you to arrive guest-free due to limited seating in our reception area.  Thank you.

How much do you charge?

We base our prices on the tattoo size, detail, placement and time.  We will give you an up front price estimate on your design.  If your tattoo is a multiple-sitting session tattoo, we will give you an hourly estimate prior to the procedure.  We have a $75 minimum for all tattoos.  Hourly rates vary, depending on the experience and speed of each artist.  To get an estimate, please email your artist of choice directly.  Email addresses can be found on our 'Contact' page.

What type of payment do you accept?
We prefer cash, but also take debit cards, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
We DO NOT accept personal checks

Do you require a deposit for an appointment?
We do ask for a drawing/appointment deposit  to schedule an appointment.   This deposit comes off of your tattoo price, it is not an extra fee.  This deposit secures your appointment time and gets your tattoo design  prepared.  If you set up your appointment and can't make the appointment,  please contact your artist BEFORE you're appointment and your deposit will go towards your rescheduled appointment. If you do not contact your artist and do not show up, we'll keep your deposit and the drawing.  If the artist has done the drawing and you decide NOT to get tattooed, the artist keeps the deposit for their time on the drawing and you will receive the drawing.

Do you require a drawing deposit for a custom tattoo design, even if I don't make an appointment?
Yes, the deposit you leave for your appointment also applies to your custom drawing.   It isn't an extra fee.  If you've already left a drawing deposit, you can set up your appointment at any time. If the artist has done the drawing and you decide NOT to get tattooed, the artist keeps the deposit for their time on the drawing and you will receive the drawing to do with what you wish.

Do you have Gift Certificates?
Yes, we do. Gift certificates are for individual Artists only.  Each Artist has their own gift certificates available. We do not have a general studio gift certificate.  Cash or debit/credit accepted. You can contact your artist through their email, found on our Contact Us page.

What do you charge for a tattoo?
We  give you an up front price estimate based on size, placement and detail of your tattoo design idea.  On large tattoos and multiple sitting tattoos, we'll give you a time estimate, based on an hourly rate which varies between artists.

If I want a price on a tattoo design, what do I need to do?

Contact your artist of choice directly through their email, found on our Contact Us page.
For a price estimate on a tattoo, please give us the following information:
Size? (in inches), Placement?, Color or Black & Gray? and, of course, details about the design.

Do you have books of designs to look at?
We do not have any design books available for viewing. Each Artist has their portfolio here, on our Artist Page and our Facebook Page.
The majority of our tattoo designs are custom drawn for each individual client.

I want Crimson Heart to draw up my tattoo for me. What do I need to do?
First, check out our portfolios and decide which Artist's style would work best for you and your tattoo design.
We each have different styles and prefer to pair you with the appropriate Artist.

Contact them directly through their email, which can be found on our 'Contact us' page.

Do I have to make an appointment?

Yes, we require appointments for tattoos, but if you have the urge to get a tattoo today, please check our Facebook

page for last minute available times.  We will always post any open times on our FB Feed. You can also call the studio at 715-986-4192 and ask if anyone has any last minute availability.

Are there any activities I should avoid after getting tattooed?
Yes. Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight and tanning beds during your healing period (about 3 weeks).
Also, no soaking or chlorine exposure during this time. This means no swimming, hot tubs etc. (Showers are fine). Please take a couple days break from extreme physical work outs.

Do you offer free touch ups?

Yes, we offer  one free touch up within six month of getting your tattoo.
If you fail to show up for your touch up appointment, without contacting your artist to cancel, your "free" touch up will now cost you our $75 minimum.  If you make a touch up appointment after 6 months, the charge is up to the Artist.

Why do you charge an average of $50 per piercing when I heard other studios will give me a piercing for $30?

We use very high quality jewelry for every piercing, Implant grade surgical stainless steel, internally threaded. Our piercer, Naye, is an experienced and trained piercer and cares about each and every one of her clients.  She's available for aftercare questions and concerns and here for you when you're ready to get your next piercing or stretch to a higher gauge.  We also offer you sample aftercare so you don't have to leave our studio and go somewhere to purchase aftercare product.

What type of jewelry do I get in my piercing?

We always use implant grade, surgical stainless steel jewelry which is internally threaded.  We also have titanium initial piercing jewelry available.  We choose a very high quality jewelry because we care about you and your piercing. Crimson Heart Designs doesn't use cheap jewelry.   We want you to heal properly and for you to know your initial jewelry may be worn for years with no worry of flaking, discoloration or piercing sensitivity.  We choose to use internally threaded vs. externally threaded jewelry.  This is a safer choice which reduces chance of infection and irritation.

Does it hurt?
Most piercings are going to initially be a bit painful.
However, once the jewelry is in, and with proper aftercare, pain is minimal.

Is it infected?!
A mentality has developed that the biggest enemy of a new, healing piercing is an infection.
This is, however, untrue!
The most common problem with healing a piercing is irritation by physical or chemical aspects. The reality of infections is that a piercing, when kept clean, is unlikely to become infected. A piercing, if kept unclean, is likely to accumulate bacteria and eventually become infected.
Stay Clean!

How long do I clean my new piercing?
We suggest you clean your piercing 2 - 3 times per day throughout the entire healing period and then only once per day after your initial healing.

Do you use a piercing gun?
Absolutely not! Piercing guns may harbor bacteria and they are unable to be properly sterilized.
We use sterile, single-use piercing needles, which are much less traumatizing to the tissue than the piercing gun.

Are we able to re-pierce my ear (or any other piercing) that has closed up?
Yes, it is totally possible!

How old do I have to be to get a piercing?
You must be at least 16 years of age to get a body piercing.  Minors under the age of 16 may get their ears pierced, with certain exceptions.  We do not pierce children under the age of 5 years.   Any other ear piercings on minors under 16 yrs of age are at the discretion of our Body Piercer, Naye.  Please contact her directly if you would like more info on minor's ear piercings.  Minors must have one parent present.  See below.

What identification do you need for minors?
If you are old enough to have a state or federal issued I.D. (Drivers License, Permit, State I.D. card, Passport, or Military Dependent card) your last name or street address must match your parent's I.D.
If you are not old enough to have a proper I.D., then you may bring in your birth certificate.
Your parent must be present.

Can I bring in my own jewelry for my piercing?
Sorry, but "No", never. The jewelry we use is implant-grade, stainless steel, internally threaded AND sterile.

When am I able to change my jewelry?
We suggest leaving your initial jewelry in for a minimum of three months. If it's comfortable, then please leave it in even longer. The less you mess with your new piercing, the quicker and easier it will heal.

Do you offer Dermal Implant or Surface Anchor piercings?
No, we do not. Our general rule of thumb is "If it protrudes, pierce it. If it doesn't, DON'T."
Surface anchors and dermal piercings are cute, but, they have a very high rejection rate. They are short term piercings and are not meant to be kept forever. We don't recommend them.

Do you provide aftercare instructions?
Yes. We verbally review the aftercare with you and also provide written instructions for you to take home with you. If you have any questions, we encourage you to give us a call or stop in. We also give you a complimentary sample of sea salt with accompanying directions.

Do you sell body jewelry?
Yes we do! We have a large variety of high quality body jewelry for sale. Shopping is available Tues -Sat.

If you need assistance with your jewelry purchase, please contact our Body Piercer, Naye.

How long can I leave my jewelry out before the piercing closes?
Taking your jewelry out for any length of time while your piercing is healing is not a good idea. Removing your jewelry allows bad bacteria to enter the unhealed piercing. Your body heals fast and will close the piercing. Once your piercing is healed, you may be able to take it out and it will stay open for a much longer period of time. This is not guaranteed, and the piercing may still want to close.

What circumstances won't allow me to get pierced?

If you are pregnant, or think you are.

If you are breastfeeding.

If you are visibly sick.

If you are have taken prescribed blood thinners or any type of steroid (such as Prednisone, Hydrocortisone, Triamcinolone etc.)

in the past seven days.

If you are under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol or have had alcohol in the past eight hours.

If you do not abide by our studio policies and guidelines.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
